1 libra de fresas frescas – 1 lb fresh strawberries
Caliente - Heat Caliente el horno a 350 para moldes de vidrio o metal brillante o 325 para moldes oscuros o antiadherentes. Engrase solo el fondo en moldes de 13”x9” pulfadas o el fondo y los lados en todos los demas moldes. Heat oven to 350 for shiny metal or glass pan or 325 for dark or nonstick pan. Grease bottom only of 13”x9” pan or bottom and sides of all other pans.
Bata -Beat Bata la mezcla de harina para pastel, el agua, el aceite y las claras de huevo en un recipiente grande a velocidad baja por 30 segundos, luego a velocidad media por 2 minutos, rasponado el recipiente de vez en cuando. Vierta la Mezcla en el molde. Beat cake mix, water, oil and egg whites in large bowl on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pan.
Hornee - Bake Hornee para vientenueve o tresecuatro minutos- Bake for 29 or 34 minutes. (Two 8” rounds)
Dejelo enfrair por diez minutos antes de sacarlo del molde. Dejelo enfrair por complete antes de curbrilo con frosting. Fresas cortadas y capa. Cool 10 minutes before removing from the pan. Cool completely before frosting. Cut and layer strawberries.
Pastel de Fresas
Fresh berries are widely available in Mexico, Blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries are grown commercially during most of the year especially in Jalisco and Michoacan, with the exception of the summer rainy season. Strawberries continue to be one of the more popular berries. While grown year round, they are more abundant in the spring growing season. They are used to decorate many sweet desserts of which can be found on display in the windows of many Pastelerias…Pastry Shops. They are one of the most typical garnishes for many creamy cakes served on special occasions. A cake such as Pastel de Fresas (Strawberry Vanilla Cake) which is a layered vanilla cake served with a vanilla frosting, or a fresh cream frosting, with strawberries cut and placed on each layer. The Spanish word Pastel means Cake in English and Fresa means Strawberry. This cake is also popular as a cool summer dessert eaten after dinner.
Recipe:
